$42,000 dollars and 7 years later, this is what is happening to our pool.
In case anyone is looking for advice on which pool company to use...
I'm hoping this will give you an idea of who NOT to use.
Scott Waldo says their warranty covers tile work for one year. None of this falls within their warranties.
After just 5 years, this happened. I was told it's due to extreme stress on the middle of the pool.
And this is after 7 years. The gunite crew explained the crack goes all the way through. Platinum Pools will not cover the repairs even though it is structural, stating as long as the pool holds water, they are not responsible.
This started after only about 2 years. Platinum Pools didn't even bother to address this.
And this hard-to-see crack travels down the entire front of our spa started after 6 years. We were told that we can expect the entire spa to lose it's tile within the year. At this point, if you tap on the tiles, they move.
Here are some comments from the owner, Scott Waldo regarding his company's stand on their work. He says their warranty covers tile work for one year. He stated many times that none of this falls within their warranties.
"I am not skirting around any issue your pool is out of warranty when you signed the contract this is what you agreed to, so please stop trying to find ways of asking Platinum to pay for something..."
" Sorry your ground moved but once again this is not a Platinum problem"
"...the warranty, it is very hard in business to have warranties, but we all do, and they all have start and stop points in their lives."
